This is probably not what you're looking for, but I wrote a bandom RPF story (totally an AU and can be read as original characters) where the two main characters are mad scientists. momentum keeps us going, gravity makes us strong - there's also a podfic for the story, two fanmixes and a sculpture that are awesome as well.
