Yes -- post coming up to elucidate all this -- you said the theme was work/artistry, and I said the theme was truth, and we weren't incorrect, because both of those are big things in the fic, it's just that it happened to be about family, or at least subconsciously when I was writing I wanted it to be about family, I see now.

So I think one of the problems with the fic that came out from this whole discussion was that there were all these things kind of fighting for dominance and it wasn't even clear in my mind which one was supposed to be the most prominent one. It's better now, I think, but I sort of wish I'd had another month :) (Then again, I usually wish that with exchanges... but deadlines are good for me, because it forces me to get the thing DONE.)
