So I liked the plot -- I mean, usual warning for parts that were clearly Just In for Coolness Factor, Made No Sense, And That I Really Don't Think They'll Explain (loved the solitary Gold scenes, but seriously show? Are you ever going to explain how that Happened? No, I didn't think so) -- the pacing seems to be way better than last season, and I thought the acting was pretty much uniformly strong. (I suspect a lot of the actors are enjoying being able to act their FTL selves.) I am really kind of digging Hopper/Jiminy these days.
Sooo... was it just me, or was the dialogue really horribly terrible? The only good line belonged to WHALE, of all people. Seriously, when I'm watching a Gold/Regina scene, I shouldn't be thinking, "Wow, it's sure amazing how much they can do with such crappy material to work with!" Also, dear writers, when a scene is supposed to be about love and redemption, you should not actually mention the words "love" and "redeem" in your text. It's much stronger that way. As it was I was cringing at the crass obviousness of the dialogue. A lot.
Unsurprisingly, most of the moments that stood out to be were the nonverbal ones: Red cornering Charming (LOVE that friendship); and both Parilla and Carlyle can reduce me to flailing about just by STANDING there. (Or, in Parilla's case, looming.) Also, that was some creepy Rumpel there. Also, also... the more Parilla-and-Carlyle I get, the better; and this makes me think there is going to be more, a lot more, YAY. Also, I totally want Gold to lose his memory. That would be SO COOL. GAAAH. If the show doesn't go there I might have to. But fortunately I cannot possibly do so until after yuletide, at which point I'll presumably have forgotten I said this :)
