Signal-boosting: songfic exchange, jukebox_fest. Brainstorm post is up here. Nominations have begun!

I am almost certainly nominating Scarborough Fair (Simon and Garfunkel), Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd), and Chiron Beta Prime (Coulton). I'm wavering on the fourth. Maybe "The Plough Boy," especially the Britten arrangement? Maybe "Laid in Blood" (Mechanisms)? NOT SURE.

ETA: WAIT WAIT EIGHT NOMINATIONS? Okay, I'm doing Laid in Blood and Plough Boy for sure! Hmm. This is changing my whole nomination strategy, here.

Ooh... interesting. There are already a couple of Spektors nominated; I'll have to go listen to that.

I second the nomination of Regina Spektor! I feel awkward about the exchange though... I would probably nominate a whole bunch of indie hip hop that no one has ever heard of. And I'm almost certainly not writing anything for this year! Maybe next time.

ahahaha, it is not stopping me! :) Although I'm realizing my music tastes are kinda boring, actually.

Well, I went to a show last night and realized I *do* have a bunch of songs that I'd like to write stories around. But I'm pretty much going to have to write them myself, unless my prompt is, "Everything that Dessa has ever written EVER."

Also, I just realized that when I post new things, Ao3 is going to continue to bug me about my open claim until I fill it. Drat.

Wait, you have a claim that's open for an exchange?

It's for the Bujold fic exchange. Someone (gwynne?) prompted a story about Laisa that I already had plotted out inside my head, so I picked up the claim, and then promptly stalled out on it.

Now I'm playing around with a different prompt from that list, instead of the one that I explicitly signed up to do. And it might be slashy. *trembles* Which will be ridiculous, but whatever.
