I think this is the first time I've signed up officially for RMSE? I'm excited! Feel free to write what you want! If you would like to write unresolved pining and UST, I absolutely love that. If you would like to write dark sexytimes, I love that too! Romance without sex is fine; sex without romance is fine; romance + sex is also fine; a relationship that is perhaps not best described as romance or sex but involves the characters having ~FEELINGS~ about and for each other is something I adore! And/or if you have a plot for which a slash pairing is firmly there but not necessarily the be-all and end-all of the story, yes please! As long as a relationship between these characters is somewhere in the story, I would basically just love stories about these fandoms :D
Please don't read anything into the amount I've written per fandom, I would love any of these!
General: I am open to most things! I very much welcome alternative ways of telling stories -- IF, epistolary fic, text messages/tweets, poetry, DW-thread-comments, what-have-you, yes please!! Crossovers would also be more than fine between these fandoms. Darkfic/character death is great and even encouraged for all of these fandoms except Tillerman (though please tag). I love fork-in-the-road type AUs for any fandom. For setting-changed AUs, I would adore them for any fandom except Tillerman. Basically I'm okay with most things as long as you tag for it so I know what I'm getting into!
Things I love: (I don't expect all of these by any means, this is just a sampling of Things That Make Me Happy): I love worldbuilding fic and plotty fic. I love character-driven fic that thinks hard about the ramifications of characters' choices. I love most of all for there to be some sort of character arc, or characters (and/or the reader) coming to a greater understanding of something or someone during a fic. I love and adore deep friendship/partnerships. I love loyalty and duty bonds (and I have a special place in my heart for physical expressions of fealty bonds, like kneeling or ritualized oath-swearing). I love it when all the characters are understandable rather than straight-out villainous or malicious, or where expectations of malice are subverted. I love when something or some implication is clear to the reader that is not clear to the characters, or some subset of the characters, because we have knowledge (about the actual canon, for example) that they don't have.
DNW: PWP; unrequested poly; graphic gratuitous violence/gore. Please no references to current politics/current events.
Now for the fandoms!
Fountainhead (Any)
This book has so many over-the-top slashy vibes, and I am SO up for fix-it or dark dysfunctional angst or hilarious crackfic or anything in between! Does sex between Roark and Wynand save Wynand? I would love reading about the super dark twisted dubcon where Keating sells his soul... and his body... to Wynand in exchange for a contract. Or Roark/Toohey where Toohey is super into Roark and keeps wanting to be dominated by him while Roark is like "...wait, you're still here?" I would adore super crackfic where Roark turns out to be a fanfic writer on the side who writes SOOPER SRS GAY PORN (because of COURSE he would be super serious about it, and of COURSE it would be like the best most objectivistly awesome gay porn...). Anything with these guys, really :D
For this fandom I'm happy with any poly grouping (Roark and Wynand use Keating as their sex toy?? Toohey's complex self-loathing makes him engineer a triangle where he submits to Roark and Keating submits to him??). If it's allowed to have OT3 with women for this exchange, I'm totally up for Dominique to be part of all of this as well, any combination, as part of fix-it or as part of twisted dubcon or anything in between.
Fandom-specific DNWs: Fluff (unless it's super-over-the-top fluff, I guess). This is kind of an Extremely Dramatic ZOMG sort of fandom :D I also really don't want too much Objectivism or Anti-Objectivism. I'm not in this for the philosophy, I'm in it for the over-the-top characters :P (That being said, gentle mockery of the over-the-topness of the characters which might be Objectivist or anti-Objectivist is fine, I'm all about mockery and these characters can be super over the top! Please no pages of monologuing, though.)
Don Carlos - Verdi (Philip/Rodrigo)
Uh, Philip/Rodrigo is my twisted OTP. Rodrigo: full of loyalty and love for his prince, and loyalty -- at least? maybe more? -- for his king, and emotions that range the gamut from feeling sorry for him to being mesmerized by him (also depending on which singer you watch)! Philip: groping vaguely towards human connection with anyone that doesn't turn to jealousy and ash! These two together: disaster! I'm totally up for fix-it or unrelenting dark. I'm mostly interested in Rodrigo/Philip if you're going to be examining the sexual relationship in particular, but I'd be more than happy to also have a sexual relationship between Carlos and Rodrigo as counterpoint or complication to that. I'm also more than happy with a nonsexual relationship; pining or even subtext will work just fine for me.
For fanart, I would LOVE seeing Rodrigo bending the knee to Philip, showing some of that fascination that Philip holds for him, or some other moment from Restate! or really anything with these two being fascinated by one another! My fave Rodrigos are Simon Keenlyside, Thomas Hampson, and Sherril Milnes; my fave Philips are Ferruccio Furlanetto (that Keenlyside/Furlanetto Met, omg) and René Pape, but if you have your own favorites I would be really interested in that too! (and link me so I can watch them :D ) I would prefer them to be fully clothed (especially if you use RL singers as your models).
Fandom-specific DNWs: Any Rodrigo/Elisabeth at all (including Rodrigo pining for Elisabeth -- note that this is different from my Schiller DNW) is a big DNW. Rodrigo & Elisabeth friendship is very much encouraged, though!
Don Carlos - Schiller (Philip/Posa)
This one's a bit more tricky, as all the characters are a lot more complex and the relationships are also a lot more complex. A sexual relationship between Posa and the King would be really tricky and fascinating, it seems to me -- I'd love some exploration of Posa's calculating nature balancing his creeping sympathy for the King with his estimation of whether it will help him in his progressive agenda. In a world where they do consummate such a relationship, can this save the doomed tangle of relationships? Or do they go down in flames even harder? (Uh, pun not intended when I wrote that, but feel free to roll with it :P ) Or: Also feel free to write about the aftermath of such a relationship, once the King thinks he has been betrayed. I'm mostly interested in Posa/Philip if you're going to be examining the sexual relationship in particular, but I'd be more than happy to also have a sexual relationship between Carlos and Posa as counterpoint or complication to that. (Though it would also be interesting if he didn't!) But if you're going for exploring the romantic relationship/~FEELINGS~, I'd be interested in either pairing for that, as long as the whole triangular nature of the conflict is kept in mind.
The relationships don't have to be consummated; I'd be equally as happy with pining/UST in whatever direction you like (Philip -> Posa (by which I mean "Philip pining for Posa") and Carlos -> Posa are the overt canonical-ish directions, though I'd love Posa -> Philip with him softening and feeling a bit sorry for Philip while still keeping his eye on the main chance, or even Posa -> Carlos, even though he tries to keep aloof).
I'm also more than happy with pining in the Posa -> Queen direction (which Posa may or may not realize he's doing) complicating all the other pining and/or sexual relationships; Posa & Queen firm friendship with some unconscious Posa -> Queen pining is my headcanon (although a sexual relationship between Posa and the Queen, or any overt pining Queen -> Posa, is a definite DNW).
Fandom-specific DNWs: Sexual relationship Queen/Posa or Queen pining for Posa, as noted above, though I'd love Posa->Queen pining as a complication to the major slash relationship(s).
18th Century CE Frederician RPF (Fritz/Fredersdorf, Fritz/Joseph, Fritz/Heinrich, Heinrich/Kaphengst, Fritz/Voltaire) - There are SO MANY options here! I just want to reiterate that this is a fandom with a lot going on, and honestly I would be so happy with a fic with one or more of these pairings as just part of a larger canvas. A couple of thoughts:
-Fritz/Joseph arranged marriage? :D Bonus points if we get to see Maria Theresia's reaction!
-Fritz/Heinrich is my OTP twisted brothercest ship. I seriously want anything that speaks to their codependent, can't-live-with-him-can't-live-without-him, l'autre-moi-meme relationship. It can be subtext, it can be explicit, it can be anything in between. Just these guys hating and loving each other <3
-Fritz/Voltaire, omg, THESE TWO. I really have no other prompt but that. THESE TWO in their hilarious hateromance.

Fandom DNWs: I don't think I have any; man, I want it all, actually.
Tillerman Cycle - Voigt (Horace Greene/Thomas Richardson) - I had never thought about these guys together before seeing this in the tag set, and now I'm really interested in anything you might write about them. How would this pairing work for Brother Thomas? I would super be interested in something where he has to wrestle with what this means about his faith and about his relationship with God. I'd also be interested in the Professor thinking through what it means for him, what it means about how he felt or does feel about Melody, what it means about the way he's constructed his life. I'd also be interested in Jeff -- who is canonically a pretty aware guy -- and what he thinks of this whole situation, and what it means for him. And I'd also be super interested in how this develops or changes how any of them think about what family means.
I'd be equally as happy with a sexual relationship (though please nothing explicit -- see Fandom DNWs), a romantic relationship that doesn't involve sex (especially given Thomas's restrictions), or a relationship where feelings are acknowledged (to themselves, if not to each other) but a romance per se doesn't happen -- as long as it's true to your conception of the characters.
...Mostly what I want here is something that fits into the Tillerman books as we know them -- that is, something that thinks deeply about life, with this pairing being part of that life.
Fandom DNWs: This is one where I really don't want anything explicit -- I don't want an E rating, and almost certainly not an M either (unless it's really integral to the story you want to tell).
I would also rather not have darkfic for this fandom. Character death, even major character death, is OK, but I have to be assured that the characters can connect and have a way to comfort and light. For example, Horace dying is OK if the story is about Thomas and Jeff (and their other friends?) grieving together and coming to a new or renewed connection, but Horace dying and Thomas committing suicide as a result is not OK.
I would also rather not have any infidelity in Horace's life; if he enters into a sexual relationship with Thomas, it should be after Melody's out of their lives (and/or before he marries her). I'd also rather not have setting-changed AU for this fandom only.
